Reunion update!

After some feedback regarding location, timing, and cost we decided to reschedule our fabulous reunion for the summer of 2015.  The following is the letter that I will be sending out to you all next week (assuming we aren't completely snowed in!).  Also, I would really, really appreciate hearing from you all!  Hit me up with your thoughts and ideas!
Greetings!
Ok, so we’re gonna try this again…. Due to some feedback, we have decided to postpone the family reunion until the summer of 2015.  I know that seems like a really long ways off, but it’ll go really fast and it gives everybody the chance to save up for our super fantastic family reunion to –wait for it—COLORADO!  The following letter below is essentially the same as the previous one, but with a few tweaks J  Oh yeah, and please get back to Missy or Julie!  It is really helpful if we get feedback directly from the source….
You are cordially invited to join the Dalson clan
for the coolest, grooviest family reunion
 EVER!
In order to give everyone the opportunity to plan and save money, we have decided to hold this awesomeness sometime in the Summer of 2015.  Most likely it will be in July.  We will be renting a large house or cabins or possibly a KOA somewhere amazing in Colorado (location to be determined once we receive a final count of people coming)!   Locations are booking already for 2015 (crazy, right?) so we need to put in a reservation sooner rather than later, we will need to know who wants to come.  I will keep you posted on a deposit. We also need to know how many people in your party and if you would be willing to share a room with other family members in order to cut your costs down (depending on the location, sharing may not be possible).  Just fill out and return the attached form.  We plan on 7 days and we don’t expect the cost to be more than $100 per night per room—hopefully less (this is why you need to start saving now)  there will also be a small cost for food.  I’m sure some of you are already thinking “but I can stay at Motel 6 and eat cheap at Taco Bell”.  Well, you could, but then you would miss out on spending time with everyone at the awesomely large house and eating our outrageously tasty food.  And quite frankly, that would suck for you. J  Rest assured, we are doing our best to keep costs down and give everyone advance notice.  I do have some suggestions that would help cut costs :
1.)      Share a room.  That may mean that someone sleeps on a cot or the floor, but you would save money as the rate is a per room rate.
2.)    Stop going to Starbucks daily for your coffee.  Ok, that one’s for me….
3.)    Put money in a jar every week marked “Awesome Family Reunion”

You get the idea J
We are going to do our best to accommodate everyone.  However, that is a really, really hard thing to do (especially if I don't get feedback)…..so, we do ask that everyone understand that we are organizing an event for 40 or so people and that takes a lot of effort and time.  Please be reasonable and understanding if things don’t go exactly as you would wish.  J

For information, check out this website: www.dalsonfamilyreunion.blogspot.com.  There is a ton of information, pictures, as well as the memorial video from Great Grandmas funeral.
And last, but not least, I need your favorite vegetarian recipes!  I will be compiling a cookbook of family recipes (a ton of them will be Great Grandmas) that will be available during the family reunion.  I also will need at least 10 pictures of your family to include in the cookbook and website (feel free to email Missy all of this).
Email me anytime!

Thanks,
Missy and Julie
