Reunion Information

Check back here often for upcoming details!

Greetings!

As you all know, Great Grandma Dalson passed away in January.  Many family members came from all over and gathered in Tennessee to celebrate her life.  It was so nice having the opportunity to reconnect with those that we hadn’t seen in so long (even though it was for a sad occasion!).  This got Julie and me thinking.  Why not have a HUGE family reunion?!?  Why not do something totally AWESOME!?!

So…..WE ARE!

You are cordially invited to join the Dalson clan

for the coolest, grooviest family reunion

EVER!

In order to give everyone the opportunity to plan and save money, we have decided to hold this awesomeness sometime in the Summer of 2014.  Most likely it will be in August.
We will be renting a large house or cabins somewhere amazing in Northern Michigan (location to be determined once we receive a final count of people coming)!   Locations are booking already for next summer so we need to put in a reservation sooner rather than later, we will need to know who wants to come and we will need a small deposit by Octobert 1, 2013 to hold your spot.  Nothing outrageous, just $100 per family (if that is going to be a problem, but you are committed to coming, call us and we will work with you!).
We also need to know how many people in your party and if you would be willing to share a room with other family members in order to cut your costs down.  Just fill out and return the attached form.  We plan on 7 days and we don’t expect the cost to be more than $120-$130 per night per room (this is why you need to start saving now)  there will also be a small cost for food.  I’m sure some of you are already thinking “but I can stay at Motel 6 and eat cheap at Taco Bell”.  Well, you could, but then you would miss out on spending time with everyone at the awesomely large house and eating our outrageously tasty food.  And quite frankly, that would suck for you.  Rest assured, we are doing our best to keep costs down and give everyone advance notice.  I do have some suggestions that would help cut costs :

  1. Share a room.  That may mean that someone sleeps on a cot or the floor (I think kids are good for that :), but you would save money as the rate is a per room rate.
  2. Stop going to Starbucks daily for your coffee.  Ok, that one’s for me….
  3. Put money in a jar every week marked “Awesome Family Reunion”

You get the idea
We are going to do our best to accommodate everyone, realize that is a really, really hard thing to do…..so, we do ask that everyone understand that we are organizing an event for 40 or so people and that takes a lot of effort and time.  Please be reasonable and understanding if things don’t go exactly as you would wish.

For information, check out this website: dalsonfamilyreunion.blogspot.com.  There is tons of information, pictures, as well as the memorial video from Great Grandmas funeral.
And last, but not least, I need your favorite vegetarian recipes!  I will be compiling a cookbook of family recipes (a ton of them will be Great Grandmas) that will be available during the family reunion.  I also will need at least 10 pictures of your family to include in the cookbook (feel free to email Missy all of this). There is a bit of info about this under the Family Cookbook tab.
Thanks,
Missy and Julie
